[Psalm 51:12]:"Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation"
These are the words of King David one year after his encounter with Nathan the Prophet.
Realizing his transgression against God doing the episode concerning Bathsheba and Uriah.
These words letting us know that one can be drawn by the father, redeemed by the son, and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and still allow sin to interrupt his fellowship with God.
How sad to possess such a precious gift, and not enjoy it.
Some ways one can get out of fellowship with God?
[1] By ignoring evangelism
[2] By not getting involved with missions
[3] By the lack of service
[4] By practicing sin
The Psalm itself is profoundly moving. It lets us see right into the soul of a man who has loved God yet fallen into grievous sin. He has been made to see himself through God's eyes, and he is heartbroken. He makes no excuse, simply accepts God's judgment and admits his guilt. All he can do now - knowing God's love and mercy- is ask forgiveness and the chance of fresh start.
