1 Timothy 4-The Doctrines of Demons-Audio Study

1Tim 4.1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. KJV
I provide these scriptures as an illustration of the true reality of the world that we live in
-We live in a world which is dominated by invisible forces which are constantly at war one with another. This conflict has spilled into human history where the earth has become a spiritual battleground
-We live in a world where fallen spiritual beings dominate and degrade humanity and human civilization while others implement the plan of God which engages human beings to participate in His glory
-We are surrounded and our institutions infiltrated by wicked forces which effectively control the entire globe: manipulating its thinking, its culture and its aspirations according to a demonic template
-We live in a world where the believer is called out of this system of degeneracy and commanded to use spiritual weapons to withstand the fallen angelic hierarchy. The unbeliever cannot do this, he is either the helpless victim of the system or its willing soldier.
-Therefore the conflict rages on in the lives of believers: will we willingly submit to the attraction of the demonic world system and be nullified as a spiritual force, or will we utilize divine power to live by the Word and thereby glorify God and defeat Satan
The mechanism by which the believer fights is by bible doctrine-it is the Word of God which is the only weapon that is effective in the spiritual warfare
-Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the woof God; NKJV
-Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. KJV
·We grow by the Word
·We pray on the basis of the Word
·We exercise faith in all situations by leaning upon the Word
·We evangelize others by the Word
·We worship God through the Word of God
·We fight the devil with the Word of God
Because of the nature of this spiritual warfare, because of the importance of the Word of God. Satan has an organized offensive to negate the word, to dull the sword of the scriptures.
This is the subject of our study, this is the purpose for our study of 1Tim 4.1-3
It is a short passage, but an in depth study, designed to help you to understand that the entirety of the spiritual war that surrounds us and is within us hinges upon the Word of God: will it be a clean, pure and sharp sword, or will it be contaminated, corrupted and dulled by false teaching and intentional tampering?
·The doctrines of demons are those principles, concepts or ideas by which Satan captures and enslaves mankind.
